The study balances room for individual choice with the shared infrastructure and collective spaces needed for a community, while keeping food production central to the landscape.

The design question

How can Oosterwold’s experimental approach evolve to support individual initiative, coherent neighbourhoods and a living relationship with urban agriculture?

My contribution

Within the KuiperCompagnons team, I worked on spatial exploration for Oosterwold. The October 2023 Kluutweg study tests a framework for part of area 2A: small neighbourhoods connected by a landscape and movement structure, with communal green space and direct relationships to productive land.

The value

The study balances room for individual choice with the shared infrastructure and collective spaces needed for a community, while keeping food production central to the landscape.
