The design question

How can a small intervention make more room for public life in a dense city?

My contribution

As part of the core GAPP design team, I worked on concept development and detailing of the structure. The proposal used a simple frame and movable seating elements to turn a parking bay into public space. The wider collaboration included Blok, Our Future Cities and Cameron Barnes Furniture.

The value

The parklet turns a small piece of street into a place to pause and meet, and can be moved to new locations.
