Design guidance / Development coordination

Lelystad Airport Businesspark

Lelystad Airport Businesspark · Netherlands

For a truck parking proposal, our advice brought drivers’ comfort into the design: longer stays, outdoor activity, shelter from wind and poor weather, and use across the seasons. It connected the service building and its surroundings to the needs of the people staying there.

The design question

How can individual developments, logistics, public space and ecology contribute to one coherent businesspark as new proposals arrive?

My contribution

I coordinate incoming development questions and reviews, develop studies and advice, and align these with area supervisor Gijs van den Boomen. The work includes building proposals, public-space studies, ecological considerations and changing public requirements.

A concrete example

For a truck parking proposal, our advice brought drivers’ comfort into the design: longer stays, outdoor activity, shelter from wind and poor weather, and use across the seasons. It connected the service building and its surroundings to the needs of the people staying there.
